In all of the packing that was done to bring things to India, the one gaping whole was a Kong for Ashley. I had left one to travel with her in her kennel, but the shipping people said "No Toys!" Somehow, that Kong was the only one I had packed to come to India. For three sad weeks, Ashley had no Kong. Lucky for her, Sarah mailed us one and it arrived on Saturday. The Kong pictured here is now, I am pretty sure, the most expensive Kong ever, once you factor in the nearly $100 it cost to ship it (along with some vitamins for Luis and a package of Ziploc baggies). But if Ashley could speak, she would say the money was very well spent.
Ashley seems to be settling in a bit more. The first two weeks, she really shied away from Babu when he came to take her for her walks. A couple of times, I literally had to drag her out the door (a little like when she had blood work done at the vets). But I think she's over the hump. This morning, we saw Babu in the elevator and Ashley liked his hands and face. Then, when he came to get her for her walk, she went easily. Her being happy goes a long way towards me being happy!
