Four Month Check Up (Two Months ago)

Alejo had his 4 month check up, and as it turns out, he is still perfect delightful in every way. His stats are as follows:
Weight 14lb 7 oz (50th %), Length 26" (80th%), and head circumference 16 3/4" (65th%).
At the same age, Luis's stats were:
Weight 14lbs 14oz (50th%), Length 26 1/2" (90th %) and head circumference 16" (30th%).
Comparing the numbers, what is the most interesting is how a small change in measurement makes a huge change in percentile.
For comparison, here is Luis at 4 months

Alejo is doing great. He is happy and cheerful and easy going. He fusses only when he's tired or hungry, and even then it's barely a peep. He sleeps through the night many nights, other nights waking up about 4a to nurse. I don't mind a bit, because then he'll go back to sleep until about 8a or later. This allows me to get Diego and Luis ready for their days while Alejo snoozes.

I find it noteworthy that Alejo's eyes are still blue. Dark, crisp blue. With Luis, I really, really hoped he would have green eyes (like his mom), but that was not to be. Now, I am wondering if Alejo might end up with blue eyes (like his grandfather). It is not statistically probable, but it is possible.

Alejo has not yet "organized" his day sleep, which is on my list of things to encourage. His night sleep is great. Fantastic. Terrific. Lengthy and predictable. But day sleep consists of mostly an hour up and an hour down. When I tried to express this as a concern to the pediatrician, he simply asked: Would you rather have good nighttime or good daytime sleep? The answer, of course, is I want both. But if I had to chose, I'll take what I have.

The picture above suggests that he is on the verge of rolling over, but I don't really thing that's true. And I'm not so eager for him to reach that milestone. All things in good time...
